About

Ila Fischer graduated from Scripps College in Claremont, CA with a B.A. in Foreign Languages.  She received her teaching credential from University of San Diego and earned her Professional Certificate in College Counseling from UC San Diego.  Ila was a teacher and student mentor for 16 years at Mt. Carmel High School in the Poway Unified School District before transitioning to full time college counseling in 2010.

It was the experience of navigating her son through the college admissions process and watching other families struggle with the same issues that convinced her that everyone could use some extra guidance from a trained professional.  Since then, she has worked with hundreds of students and their families in the US and UK to help them acheive their college goals.

Ila regularly attends the Fulbright Commission US-UK Advisor Conference in London, England (2012, 2014, 2015) and travels several times a year to London to work with her students there. She has advised students studying IB, American and British curriculum.

As an independent college counselor, her goal is to assist her families and students in every way possible through this very stressful but incredibly exciting period of life.
